Kyle Lowry and the Charlotte Hornets have mutually agreed to a buyout. Following the completion of the necessary procedures, he is expected to join the Philadelphia 76ers, his hometown team.
This move comes after Lowry was traded to the Hornets from the Miami Heat before the trade deadline. Despite the initial trade, Lowry and the Hornets decided that he would not join the team. With re-trading proving challenging, both parties reached an agreement on a buyout.
Lowry has harbored a desire to play for the Sixers for a considerable period. Having grown up in Philadelphia and played college basketball at Villanova, he now has the opportunity to return home.
