Kings Player and His Girlfriend Arrested for Murder

Stockton Kings G League player Chance Comanche is facing an open murder charge in connection with the death of Marayna Rodgers in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Comanche and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden, were arrested by FBI agents in connection to the disappearance of 23-year-old Rodgers, who was a Washington medical assistant in Las Vegas.

Comanche was taken to the Sacramento County Jail on Saturday and was facing charges of first-degree kidnapping

However, those charges have now be upgraded to murder, with Las Vegas Police confirming they have found Rodgers’ body in desert area in Henderson, Nevada.

Harnden was arrested Wednesday in Las Vegas on kidnapping charges and was detained on $500,000 bail, per jail records.

Las Vegas Police have released a statement with details of the allegations against the pair.

“Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Rodgers was out with friends on December 5, 2023, and had a pre-arranged meeting with her friend Sakari Harnden (19) who would bring her boyfriend Chance Comanche (27),” the statement read.

“Since then, Rodgers had not been seen or heard from. Early in the investigation, detectives suspected foul play and obtained evidence to arrest Harnden and her boyfriend Comanche for their role in the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers.”

The statement continued, “Detectives determined that Harnden and Comanche were responsible for the murder of Rodgers. The charges for both individuals will be amended to open murder through coordination with the Clark Country District Attorney’s Office.”

The 6-foot-10 big man appeared in one NBA game last season, playing for the Trail Blazers on April 9.
