During the Philadelphia 76ers’ standoff with James Harden this offseason, Joel Embiid has given the franchise assurances he is comfortable riding out the situation, sources tell ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
Harden has publicly stated he has no intention of playing for the Sixers again if they continue to employ Daryl Morey.
Despite the turmoil with the front office, Harden has maintained a positive relationship with his teammates. Embiid invited Harden to his wedding in July. Tyrese Maxey has also remained in touch with Harden.
Embiid turns 30 in March and has a clear preference for winning with the Sixers, but the extent of his continued patience with the franchise is one of the NBA’s most critical questions.
