Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown is questionable for Sunday’s game at the Memphis Grizzlies due to a right adductor strain. Brown was injured when he slipped on the In-Season Tournament court in Toronto on Friday night.
Brown wasn’t the only player to slip on the court throughout the game. Postgame, Brown said some of the courts need work.
“I slipped. That’s it. I slipped,” Brown said. “I think I might have strained my groin a little bit. We’ll see how it feels, but the court was just slippery all game. I think as players we’re all here for the In-Season Tournament because it’s going to generate revenue, excitement, competition but we’ve got to make sure the floor is safe to play on. We can’t put our player out here and risk their health. Tonight, I thought the floor was unacceptable. I think guys were slipping all over the place, not just me.”
Toronto’s Precious Achiuwa also said the court was slippery.
“It was slippery,” Achiuwa said when told of Brown’s post-game comment. “I fell myself a few times. A couple of times I ended up on the floor. I slipped a few times. I’m extra cautious. Ending up on the floor is kind of like, ‘OK, I’m checking myself.’ I’m trying to make sure everything is intact. At the end of the day, I just want to hoop.”
