Jaylen Brown, Luke Kornet to return Sunday against Bucks

Jaylen Brown and Luke Kornet will play today against the Milwaukee Bucks, per the Celtics’ official injury report.

Brown had missed four straight with a hip flexor strain, but head coach Joe Mazzulla said the injury was not serious after Brown received imaging last week. The Celtics went 3-1 in his absence.

Boston will be glad to have Brown’s scoring and creation back, easing Jayson Tatum’s offensive workload. The Celtics had struggled somewhat offensively without Brown, but still managed to pull out wins thanks to Payton Pritchard’s spectacular output.

Boston will still be without Kristaps Porzingis, but should get Kornet back to relieve Al Horford and take some pressure off Neemias Queta, who had played big minutes with Kornet sidelined. His size will also be key defensively against Milwaukee’s seven-footers Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez.

The Celtics will aim to beat the Bucks for the second time this season, with Brown already dropping 30 in the October 28 win. The Bucks continue to struggle to start the season, starting out 2-7 and coming off a blowout loss to the New York Knicks. Khris Middleton continues to rehab from ankle surgery, and the Celtics will have nearly their full arsenal to keep them frustrated.
