Austin Reaves has become an important piece for the Lakers. After going undrafted in 2021, the shooting guard earned a spot on the roster of the Purple and Gold.
Since then he became a regular rotation player and as of late Reaves is a starter for the Lakers. Former NBA star Jason Richardson shared his thoughts on the guard.
“Every team has that third option. Now you look at the Lakers, Austin Reaves has become that 3rd option,” Richardson said. “Sometimes he becomes the 2nd or 1st option because of the way he plays the game.
“He can shoot the ball, he can dribble, he understands the game and he takes a lot of pressure off of LeBron and AD. It’s actually amazing to see the development of how far he has come along. His confidence level sky high. Those guys are believing in him. “
Reaves is averaging 17.8 points 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists in 36.3 minutes over four playoff games.
