The Celtics are playing basketball and they are winning again. Through 24 minutes, Boston leads the Detroit Pistons 73-62 and you want the takes.
So here they are.
Payton Pritchard is fulfilling Jaylen Brown’s prophecy.
Jaylen Brown:
“A night we playing, don’t mean to disrespect them but, the Detroit Pistons who have struggled over the last year or two, we gonna play through Payton, let him go for 30. Play through Sam, let him shoot 10 threes tonight. We gonna still win the game” pic.twitter.com/t1Cgu6lgdI

Sam Hauser is out, so he cannot make 10 threes. Thus, it is Payton’s job to step up and do the job Jaylen Brown assigned him.
Boy has he.
Pritchard had 16 points and 4 made three pointers in the first half. Payton Pritchard is really good and more people need to talk about it.
The Celtics are going to break the all-time single season three pointer record by a team.
I know what you are thinking, the 2023-24 Celtics have to own that record don’t they? No, they don’t, they are second.
The 2022-23 Warriors do with 1,363 made threes and this Celtics team is going to break that record.
They made 29 threes on opening night and hit 16 in the first half on Saturday.
This team has so many shooters and takes so many threes, they are going to break that record.
The Celtics defense left a lot to be desired.
The offense has been incredible and was awesome in the first half, the defense wasn’t.
The Pistons aren’t an offensive juggernaut and their shot variance hasn’t been great tonight, 7/19 from three.
Yet, they still have 62 points in the first half.
Detroit shot 53% in the first half and the Celtics have to guard better than they did in the first half.
I love Al Horford
This is not a take, but Al needs some flowers after that half he gave us.
17 points, 3 steals and 3 rebounds in the half Horford was awesome during the first 24 minutes.
As always, Al Horford forever.
