Philadelphia 76ers’ All-Star Ben Simmons has yet to make an appearance for his team this season. Simmons has requested a trade from 76ers before the start of the season.

He remains inactive for personal reasons, as Philadelphia is hoping to find the ‘right package’ for the three-time All-Star. Philadelphia has maintained that they would like to have a top 25 player in return for Simmons in a trade.

After the big win vs Boston, the Sixers’ HC Doc Rivers addressed the situation as the team has ‘glaring holes’ without Simmons, who is an elite playmaker and defender.

“We don’t know what we are yet,” said Doc Rivers. “Ben hasn’t played in a game. You can see the glaring holes that he leaves us and he may or may not play.

If he does great, if he doesn’t, then whatever we get can help us, but we don’t know what any of those factors are. So right now, we’re just playing games. Trying to win.”

The Sixers are in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference, despite their strong 8-2 start. Injuries and COVID led the team to an 8-13 record in the next 21 games.

Philadelphia has 52 games left in the season to improve the team to figure out what they want to do with Simmons situation.
