The Los Angeles Lakers (21-21) delivered a commanding 127-110 victory against the Dallas Mavericks (24-18), featuring standout performances from Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell, and LeBron James.
Russell took center stage, leading the Lakers in scoring with 29 points in 36 minutes, marking his second notable scoring display in January.
This month, Russell has been on a scoring surge, averaging 19.2 points, a significant improvement from his December average of 10.2 points per game.
Reflecting on his recent performance, Russell confidently stated, “I just know my credibility. I know what I’m capable of. I never forget it. I’ll never forget it.”
Addressing his increased confidence, Russell emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset, acknowledging that missed shots are part of the game.
“My confidence will always be high and I’ll walk like that, talk like that and try to play like that too when I have the opportunity to do that,” he said. “It’s just a confidence thing knowing where at this level you’re getting the shots you want to get, you just miss and take them. It doesn’t really become bigger than that.
“If you miss throughout a stretch of games, get y’all something to talk about and it become relevant because y’all are making it relevant. But for us, for myself I just try to keep that confidence how I know that I got there, watch the film, see that I just miss shots that I know I can make. Simple as that.”
