Damian Lillard on Brook Lopez: 'He might average f****** 6 blocks this season'

Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard is beyond impressed with Brook Lopez’s shot blocking ability. (via Milwaukee Bucks): “He might average f****** 6 blocks this season because I ain’t never seen nothing like it. Every time I look up he’s got 7 blocks and 8 blocks. But that’s what he does, that’s one of his strengths.”

Fantastic win for the Bucks on second night of B2B without Khris. Monster 4th from Giannis, Pat with huge shots to lead bench onslaught and Dame doing his thing too. Not sure how Dame/Beasley survived defending Luka/Kyrie in the 4th but…we’ll take it. – 10:23 PM

Kyrie Irving’s creative shot-making and Damian Lillard’s clutch-time shooting have made Giannis-Luka feel like an undercard down the stretch in Milwaukee. It’s Bucks 122, Mavericks 117 with 3:38 left. – 10:08 PM

Pay little mind to Derrick Jones Jr.’s 0-for-7 shooting and more attention to his rebounds (8) and defense on Dame Lillard (3-for-9, 12 points). Jones checked out of the game, Mavs tried a zone and Lillard immediately drew a foul. – 9:31 PM

Lively II is the latest of the 2023 #NBADraft class to try the #Bucks center at the rim.

Last night, the Hornets tried to use a zone defense to get back in the game. Damian Lillard noticed and just created open looks for himself.

The Hornets just tried a press out of the timeout.
Khris Middleton quickly diagnosed it. Told Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay at halfcourt. He baseball pass’d it to Antetokounmpo for a 2-on-1 that led to a Brook Lopez dunk.

“We just gotta do a better job of taking care of the defensive glass,” Bucks center Brook Lopez said. “They did a good job. They fought hard on that. It was clear that was a point of emphasis for them. It seemed like it was a key to their game and they did a great job on it. We need to be better at that.” The Raptors scored 62 points in the painted area when the starters were in, much of which came relatively easily (eight dunks and 26 fast-break points). And even though the Bucks forced 16 turnovers, the Raptors set a season-high with 33 assists on 48 field goals with their starters in. -via Wisconsin Sports Heroics / November 2, 2023
Jorge Sierra: Damian Lillard wants that In-Season Tournament prize money… but mostly for teammates who are not so well off financially: “You got guys on two-way contracts who are trying to earn a stay and that prize in the end could change their family’s lives.” -via Twitter @hoopshype / November 16, 2023
“I’m friends with a lot of people. I think friendships help,” said Bridges, who’s bond with Damian Lillard made Brooklyn an appealing destination as the All-NBA guard attempted to navigate his exit from the Trail Blazers this summer and fall. “Obviously, if I think it’s a good option, then yeah,” Bridges said, but he’s not proactively giving recruiting pitches across the league. “Not unless it makes sense. I’m just trying to win now and do what it takes. You can talk about all the ‘what ifs’ and ‘maybe this,’ but you can’t control that. Other than that just trying to win now. I’m more locked in on the guys here.” -via Yahoo! Sports / November 16, 2023
