For Phoenix Suns star point man Chris Paul, being named into the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team was an ultimate achievement.
“For all these years I have just kept my head down and done the work, and I can honestly say that being named to the NBA 75 team, the day we did that huge photoshoot, I’ll never forget it,” Paul told Kameron Hay of Complex.
“I met a number of players that I had never met for the first time. Being in the same setting, all of us, at the same time, was the craziest feeling.”
Besides winning an NBA championship or being named as the league’s Most Valuable Player, having your name listed as one of the best players in the entire history of the association is a dream come true as a basketball cager.
Paul, who is a 12-time All-star and a member of multiple All-NBA and Defensive Team selections, is definitely a shoe-in on the pantheon of the league’s greatest.
Since being drafted as the fourth overall pick of the 2005 Draft, he established himself as one of the finest ball generals to ever grace the court, being labeled as the “Point God” due to his superior playmaking and immense talent in his natural position.
Not only that, other than the Suns, he helped multiple teams like the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder to reach the next level of competitiveness upon his respective tenures with them — solidifying his legacy as an elite floor raiser.
“Standing there and taking a picture with John Stockton and Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson, all of these guys that I have watched since I was a kid. It’s something that will live forever, I’m grateful.”
