The Philadelphia 76ers have been at the center of trade drama involving James Harden, but the reigning MVP Joel Embiid is also making headlines with trade rumors.
NBA insider Chris Broussard adds fuel to the fire with reports of Embiid possibly eyeing the New York Knicks as a potential destination.
As the Sixers navigate the Harden situation, Embiid’s name has surfaced in trade discussions involving multiple teams, including the Knicks.
“There is scuttlebutt in some corners of the league that Embiid wants to go to New York,” Broussard said on First Things First, per Jackson Stone of ClutchPoints.
Embiid hasn’t publicly voiced his desire to leave Philly, but rumors are gaining momentum. However, Broussard notes, “We always associate the Knicks with all these great players on other teams, so I’m not going to count on that.”
Broussard added, “Embiid wouldn’t lead them to a championship. I’m sorry. He wouldn’t.”
While trade talks continue, it remains to be seen whether Embiid’s reported interest in New York will materialize.
