Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham is confident that in his debut season in the NBA he made a strong case for him to win the Rookie of the Year award. The number one pick of the 2021 NBA Draft also concurs that other players had good games as well.
“I think I made a strong case for it,” Cunningham said on his Rookie of the Year resume, per Omari Sankofa II. “I had some big moments this year that will show that I feel like I’m the best rookie this year, and there’s other guys that have had big moments as well.”
This season Cunningham averaged 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 32.6 minutes per game for the Pistons. Detroit finished second to bottom in the Eastern Conference with 23 wins and 59 losses.
