The Nuggets swept the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals on their way to the first championship. LeBron James scored 40 points in Game 4, but that wasn’t enough to avoid the sweep.
Bruce Brown, who recently signed with the Pacers, was part of that Denver team. He remembered Game 4 of the Lakers series on the Run Your Race podcast.
“He had 30 in the first half…,” Bruce remembered James having a big first half in Game 4. “So what were they up 15 and it was like we were just missing shots. And Bron he couldn’t… he was going to score 60… He was done… He was burnt out… He was so passive to start the third quarter, we were like ‘Oh yeah, he’s done.’”
