After three seasons in Chicago, former North Carolina Tar Heels guard Coby White has been the center of plenty of trade talk, as the Bulls added multiple guards to the roster in the offseason.
White has averaged 13.7 points, 3.5 assists, 3.6 rebounds in his career so far, but his numbers dipped last season as he started just 17 games and saw fewer minutes.
Instead of holding on to a guard they might not need, Chicago could try to balance the roster by dealing white. Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley proposed a deal that would see the Bulls receive Mavericks wing Josh Green, along with some draft compensation.
Bulls receive: Josh Green, two second-round draft picks
Mavericks receive: Coby White

White looked redundant with Chicago last season, and then the franchise added two more backcourt players (rookie Dalen Terry and veteran Goran Dragic). Even if the Bulls are fans of White, they could probably acknowledge that a shoot-first combo guard isn’t exactly a necessity.
Green, on the other hand, could (eventually) check a big box as a perimeter stopper.
He hasn’t shown a ton to this point in his career, but maybe that—plus a need for more shot-creation—could be a reason for the Mavericks to let him go.
