Maccabi Tel Aviv – Monaco 78-83
Monaco earned the second consecutive victory in the Euroleague quarterfinal series versus Maccabi. They stole a road win in Tel Aviv tonight to go 2-1 up in the best-of-five series. Mike James (185-G-1990, college: Lamar) was pivotal for the winners with 21 points.
Monaco dominated in the first half. They secured a 22-16 lead ten minutes into the game. The Monegasque side extended the margin at 9-point mark at halftime 41-32. Maccabi cut the distance in the third period. The hosts pulled within three points at the final break 57-60. But Monaco opened the final quarter on an 8-2 run and never looked back en route to the win. Jordan Loyd (193-G/F-1993, college: Indianapolis) accounted for 15 points in the victory. Bonzie Colson Jr. (198-PF-1996, college: Notre Dame, agency: Octagon Europe) posted 17 points for Maccabi. Wade Baldwin IV (193-PG-1996, college: Vanderbilt) had 16 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
