Kevin Kokila
Power forward Kevin Kokila (204-F/C-01) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Lyon CTC, receiving a Hoops Agents NM1 Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 20-year old player had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Caen (#1, 18-6) 81-78. Lyon CTC is placed at 2nd position in French NM1. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Lyon CTC will need more victories to improve their 16-7 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Kokila as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Kevin Kokila averages this season 8.8ppg and 5.7rpg.
The second best player in last round’s games was 29-year old Oumarou Sylla (185-PG-92) of Le Havre. Sylla had a very good evening with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Le Havre cruised to a 77-68 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Orchies (#7, 11-11). This victory allowed Le Havre to move up to 4th position in Group B. His team’s 16-7 record is not bad at all. Sylla is a newcomer at Le Havre, but is already one of team’s top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was Guinean guard Ahmed Doumbia (195-PG-89) of Lorient (#3). Doumbia scored 27 points. He was a key player of Lorient, leading his team to a 98-76 easy win against the lower-ranked Challans (#12, 8-14). Lorient needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group A. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 7 lost games. Doumbia has a very solid season. In 6 games in France he scored 12.8ppg. He also has 4.7rpg and FGP: 60.0%.

7. Nemanja Kovanusic (204-C-93) of Challans – 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Valentin Vitale-Boiteux (187-G-01) of Besancon – 18 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Tiegbe Bamba (204-F-91) of Kaysersberg – 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Joel Awich (201-F-93) of Andrezieux – 20 points and 7 rebounds
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
