Ventspils – BK Ogre 76-79
Point guard Ugis Pinete (194-1991) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 assists for the winners and Rihards Zebergs (192-1992) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four BK Ogre players scored in double figures. BK Ogre’s coach Uldis Svede used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Puerto Rican point guard Ivan Gandia-Rosa (185-1997, college: UNF, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Arturs Ausejs (192-1990) scored 18 points and 4 assists.

Swedish guard Elijah Clarance (194-1998, college: Illinois St.) nailed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Anrijs Miska (208-2000) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four VEF Riga players scored in double figures. The former international center Karlis Silins (209-1997, college: FAU) came up with 18 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and the former international point guard Renars Birkans (186-1997) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Liepaja in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
