Radshad Davis
26-year old forward Radshad Davis (195-F-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Challans and receives a Hoops Agents NM1 Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
He had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Challans in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Besancon (#9, 2-6) 105-90. Challans is placed at 6th position in French NM1. Challans is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 4th lost game this season out of 8 games. In the team’s last game Davis had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Challans’ top player in his first season with the team. Florida International University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Davis is in league’s top in points (5th best: 14.5ppg) and averages solid 59.2% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Mantvydas Staniulis (186-PG-1997) of Hyeres-Toulon. He is Lithuanian guard in his first season at Hyeres-Toulon. In the last game Staniulis recorded impressive 20 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. It was enough for Hyeres-Toulon to edge slightly lower-ranked Berck (#4, 3-2) by 5 points 75-70. This victory allowed Hyeres-Toulon to move up to 3rd position in Group C. His team lost just one game this Second Stage, while they won 4 matches. Staniulis is a newcomer at Hyeres-Toulon and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Franck Yangue (205-F/C-1990, agency: Inception Sports) of Feurs CTC (#8). Yangue scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Feurs CTC, leading his team to a 73-61 win against the higher-ranked Rueil (#3, 5-3). Yangue has a very solid season. In 34 games in France he scored 10.3ppg. He also has 5.8rpg and FGP: 60.9%.
