Aleksey Adediran
40-year old center Aleksey Adediran (206-C-1982, agency: BIG) had a great game in the last round for league’s best team Rivne and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
He had the game-high 26 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Rivne in his team’s victory, helping them to crush SumDU (#2, 3-3) with 16-point margin 78-62. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. It allowed Rivne to consolidate first place in the Ukrainian Higher League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Rivne already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. It’s Adediran’s second year at Rivne and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Aleksey Adediran averages this season 16.8ppg and 6.5rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Maksym Mochalov (201-F-1995) of Politekhnik-2. He is a forward in his first season at Politekhnik-2. In the last game Mochalov recorded impressive double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Politekhnik-2 to another comfortable win 90-73 over Self Made (#4, 0-6) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Politekhnik-2 consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team’s 3-3 record is not bad at all. Mochalov is a newcomer at Politekhnik-2 and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.4ppg (#2). He also registered 11.8 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Igor Starodub (182-PG-1997) of league’s second-best SumDU. Starodub got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for five assists. He was a key player of SumDU, leading his team to a 74-68 win against #3 ranked Politekhnik-2. SumDU needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Starodub has a great season in Ukraine. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 22.4ppg (3rd best) and assists with 5.1apg (5th best).
