36-year old swingman Courtney Fells (199-F/G-1986) had an amazing evening in the last round for Kvarner 2010 and receives a Hoops Agents Prva Liga Player of the Week award for round 21.
He had the game-high 37 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Kvarner 2010 as his team was edged out by Omis-Cagalj T. (#6, 11-9) 82-79. Kvarner 2010 moved-up to the 5th position in Croatian Prva Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Kvarner 2010 will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 13-8 record. In the team’s last game Fells had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Kvarner 2010’s top player in his first season with the team. North Carolina State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fells is in league’s top in points (4th best: 19.5ppg) and averages solid 2.4spg,51.3% FGP and 40.4% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Ante Smolic (207-C-1993) of H.Analitica. He is a center in his first season at H.Analitica. In the last game Smolic recorded impressive 37 points and 9 rebounds. It was enough for H.Analitica to edge the higher-ranked Zagreb (#4, 13-8) by 5 points 96-91. H.Analitica’s 9th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 8-13 record. Smolic is a newcomer at H.Analitica and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#8). He also registered 8.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Luka Kujundzic (186-G-2003) of Samobor (#11). Kujundzic showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, five rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Kujundzic’s great performance Samobor lost 76-99 to the higher-ranked Mladost (#8, 8-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Samobor can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-17 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Kujundzic has a very solid season. In 20 games in Croatia he scored 10.5ppg. He also has 4.9rpg and FGP: 52.5%.

7. Bruno Levanic-Kutin (203-PF-1996) of Zagreb – 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Simun Loncar (2005) of Sonik P. – 30 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Petar Ogrizovic (182-G-1999) of Mladost – 18 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Pavao Turic (166-PG-2004) of Zagreb – 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
