The most important game in the last round took place in Beograd between second ranked Metalac VL (18-6) and sixth ranked OKK Beograd (13-10) on Tuesday night. Metalac VL was defeated by OKK Beograd on the road 79-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Metalac VL. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovakian forward Timotej Malovec (200-2004, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Nikola Topic (198-2005, agency: BeoBasket) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Uros Lukovic (213-1989, agency: BeoBasket) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. OKK Beograd have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 13-10 record. Metalac VL at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. OKK Beograd are looking forward to face Zdravlje (#13) in Leskovac in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Metalac VL will play at home against Mladost ZE (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Vrsac was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Zlatibor (19-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Vrsac (12-12). Zlatibor defeated Vrsac 92-81. The winners were led by center Lazar Joksimovic (203-2002) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Milic Starovlah supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Zlatibor’s coach Strajin Nedovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman Stefan Simic (198-1996) did not help to save the game for Vrsac. Zlatibor keeps a position of league leader. Vrsac at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. Zlatibor will play against Novi Pazar (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vrsac will play against Sloga KR (#7) in Kraljevo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Zemun between Sloga KR and Mladost ZE. Ninth ranked Sloga KR (12-11) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Mladost ZE (12-11). Sloga KR managed to escape with a 2-point win 89-87 in the fight for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mladost ZE. The best player for the winners was Rasheem Dunn who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Sloga KR’s coach Marko Dimitrijevic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Jon Davis who recorded 27 points and 8 assists. Sloga KR moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Mladost ZE. Sloga KR will meet at home Vrsac (#9) in the next round. Mladost ZE will play against the league’s second-placed Metalac VL where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 24: Zdravlje won against Dunav SB on the opponent’s court 83-78. Vojvodina NS managed to outperform Tamis PN in a home game 83-68. Bottom-ranked Kolubara was rolled over Sloboda U. on the road 95-74. Dynamic VP defeated Cacak 94 on its own court 88-85. Novi Pazar was beaten by Spartak in Subotica 99-84.

Dunav SB – Zdravlje 78-83

There was a minor upset in Stari Banovci where 13th ranked Dunav SB (7-17) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Zdravlje (7-17) 83-78 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American-Jamaican Duane Morgan (198-1993, college: Adelphi) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Johnathan Jordan (178, college: TAMUCC, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 18 points. Zdravlje’s coach Nikola Ristic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Nikola Kovacevic (202-1999) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Srdjan Krsmanovic (206-2000) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Zdravlje and four Dunav SB players scored in double figures. Zdravlje moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Dunav SB. Five Vojvodina NS players scored in double figures.
