American Dru Kuxhausen (183-PG-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s leader Olimpi and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 24-year old playmaker had the game-high 30 points adding two rebounds and seven assists for Olimpi in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Batumi (#6, 7-7) 94-79. It allowed Olimpi to consolidate first place in the Georgian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Olimpi has a very solid 10-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team’s last game Kuxhausen had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Olimpi’s top player in his first season with the team. University of Northern Colorado graduate has very impressive stats this year. Kuxhausen is in league’s top in points (3rd best: 19.5ppg).
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young international center Gegi Baqradze (206-C-1994) of Delta. Baqradze impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Delta to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Vera (#11, 2-12) 117-80. Delta’s 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 6-8 record. Baqradze is a newcomer at Delta and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.
The third best performed player last round was international swingman Kakhaber Jintcharadze (196-F/G-1993, agency: BIG) of Kutaisi (#8). Jintcharadze got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for seven assists. He was a key player of Kutaisi, leading his team to a 84-78 win against the higher-ranked TSU (#5, 8-6). The chances of Kutaisi not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jintcharadze could try to bring Kutaisi’s a little bit higher in the standings. Jintcharadze has a very solid season. In 2 games in Georgia he scored 30.5ppg.
