26-year old point guard Josh Thompson (183-PG-1996, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for Celje and receives a Hoops Agents 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 19.
He had the game-high 30 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for Celje in his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Portoroz (#8, 8-10) in overtime 85-81. Celje maintains the 12th position in Slovenian 2SKL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 16 games and recorded just two victories. Thompson turned to be Celje’s top player in his first season with the team. Ball State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thompson is league’s best scorer averaging so far 25.8ppg. Thompson is in league’s top in and averages solid 2.2spg and 56.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jaka Stemberger (201-C-1992) of Litija. He is a center in his 3rd season at Litija. In the last game Stemberger recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Litija to edge slightly lower-ranked Nova Gorica (#9, 6-12) by 2 points 71-69. This victory allowed Litija to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Stemberger is one of the most experienced players at Litija and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#4). He also registered 10.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jure Licen (197-F/C-2000) of league’s second-best Jance. Licen scored 14 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Jance, leading his team to a 90-60 easy win against the lower-ranked Postojna (#11, 3-15). Licen has a great season in Slovenia. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 15.3ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (#1 in league).

5. Nejc Buda (211-C-1991) of Celje – 17 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jan Mocnik (178-PG-1987) of Nova Gorica – 17 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Adrian Hirschmann (190-G-2000) of Sezana – 20 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Tim Skerbec (200-PF-1993) of Portoroz – 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Ziga Ferjancic (189-G-2002) of Jezica – 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Gasper Sevsek (203-F-1993) of Celje – 21 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
