Keandre Cook
American Guard Keandre Cook (196-G-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for MZT Skopje, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, five rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Cedevita Ol. (#3, 12-5) 79-74. MZT Skopje maintains the 14th position in ABA League . Too late to improve their position as they are currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 15 games and recorded just three victories. In the team’s last game Cook had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be MZT Skopje’s top player in his first season with the team. Keandre Cook averages just after two games 13.0ppg.
The second best player in last round’s games was young American Hunter Hale (192-G-1997) of Borac CA. Hale had a very good evening with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Borac CA was edged by the higher-ranked Cibona (#10, 7-11) 84-83. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Borac CA keeps 13th position. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Borac CA managed to get this year. Hale is well-known at Borac CA and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#4). He also recorded 3.4 assists per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Luka Bozic (200-SF-1996) of Zadar (#6). Bozic showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, ten rebounds and nine assists in the last round. Despite Bozic’s great performance Zadar lost 85-89 to the lower-ranked Split (#9, 7-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Zadar needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 9 lost games. Bozic has a great season in ABA League. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 22.6ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 9.9rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 6.3apg (4th best).
