American Point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-PG-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for Thor Thorl, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 24-year old player got a double-double of 41 points and 13 assists, while his team crushed Stjarnan (#8, 4-6) with 24-point margin 128-104. Thor Thorl is placed at 11th position in Icelandic Subway League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just two victories. In the team’s last game Shahid had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Thor Thorl’s top player in his first season with the team. Former North Dakota State University star has very solid stats this year. Shahid is league’s best scorer averaging so far 29.5ppg and is league’s best passer with 9.3apg. Shahid is in league’s top in and averages impressive 60.7% FGP and 43.1% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round’s games was young American Tim Guers (190-G-1996) of Hottur. Guers had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Hottur to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Breidablik (#3, 7-3) 91-69. Hottur’s 9th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 4-6 record. Guers is a newcomer at Hottur, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 6.7rpg and 3.9apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was American guard E.C. Matthews (196-G-1994) of KR (#12). Matthews got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. Despite Matthews’ great performance KR lost 77-104 to the higher-ranked Tindastoll (#6, 6-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. KR can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Matthews has individually a great season in Iceland. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 20.2ppg (6th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
