17-year old forward Bogoljub Markovic (204-F-2005) had an amazing evening in the last round for league’s best team Mega SM and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 26 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Mega SM in his team’s victory, helping them to crush, the league’s bottom-ranked team Borac Cacak (#8, 0-1) with 17-point margin 92-75. It allowed Mega SM to take over top position in the ABA League U19. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Mega SM won both games without losing any. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team’s last game Markovic had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Mega SM’s top player in his first season with the team. Markovic has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (3rd best: 26.0ppg) and averages solid 88.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Andrija Jelavic (207-F-2004, agency: BeoBasket). He is Croatian forward in his first season at Mega SM. In the last game Jelavic recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Of course together with Markovic he helped Mega SM with another comfortable win 92-75 over Borac Cacak (0-1) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Jelavic is a newcomer at Mega SM and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.0ppg (#4). He also registered 14.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Lazar Gacic (212-C-2005) of Crvena Zvezda (#3). Gacic scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Crvena Zvezda, leading his team to a 81-78 win against SC Derby (#6, 1-1). Crvena Zvezda has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it’s too early to judge them at this stage. Gacic also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Gacic as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team’s leader.
