American Guard Deshon Taylor (188-G-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Kouvot, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 26-year old player tried to help (47 points, six rebounds and four assists) his team in a lost game to Vilpas (#9, 4-5) 105-109. Kouvot moved-up to the 6th position in Finnish Korisliiga. Kouvot is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 4th lost game this season out of 8 games. In the team’s last game Taylor had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kouvot’s top player in his first season with the team. Former Fresno State University star has very solid stats this year. Taylor is league’s best scorer averaging so far 25.9ppg. Taylor is in league’s top in assists (9th best: 4.6apg) and averages impressive 2.1spg.

The second best player in last round’s games was young American KeyShawn Feazell (206-F-1998) of Vilpas. Feazell had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Vilpas to edge the higher-ranked Kouvot (#6, 4-4) 109-105. This victory allowed Vilpas to move up to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 4-5 record. Feazell is a newcomer at Vilpas, but is already one of team’s top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Danny Pippen (206-F-1997) of league’s top team Kobrat. Pippen scored 27 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Kobrat, leading his team to a 63-60 win against #3 ranked Kotka in a game of the week. Kobrat confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Pippen has a great season in Finland. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 18.3ppg (6th best).

7. Zena Edosomwan (206-C/F-1993) of Seagulls – 12 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Perrion Callandret (188-PG-1995) of Nokia – 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Amaze Egekeze (203-F-1995) of Kataja – 22 points and 11 rebounds
10. Quentin Goodin (193-G-1997) of Vilpas – 21 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
