Experienced American Maurice Kemp (203-PF-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Bnei Hertzeliya and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 31-year old power forward had a double-double of 19 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat H.Holon (2-1) 79-74. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. Bnei Hertzeliya is placed at 3rd position in Israeli Winner League. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost that single game earlier this season. Bnei Hertzeliya will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. It’s Kemp’s second year at Bnei Hertzeliya and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. East Carolina University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Kemp is in league’s top in rebounds (7th best: 7.7rpg) and averages solid 58.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American forward Eric Griffin (203-F-1990) of H.Eilat. Griffin impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Of course H.Eilat cruised to a 88-76 relatively comfortable win over H.Galil Elion (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let’s wait for the next round. Griffin is a newcomer at H.Eilat and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Chavaughn Lewis (195-G/F-1993, agency: BeoBasket) of E.Kiryat Ata (#8). Lewis got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for twelve assists. Despite Lewis’ great performance E.Kiryat Ata lost 99-100 to H.Be’er Sheva (1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Lewis has individually a great season in Israel. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in assists with 7.0apg (5th best).
