Erick Neal
American Erick Neal (178-PG-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for Oradea and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 27-year old playmaker got a double-double of 17 points and fifteen assists, while his team outclassed, the league’s bottom-ranked team Rilski (#4, 0-2) with 36-point margin 99-63. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. Oradea maintains the 3rd position in FIBA Europe Cup . Oradea is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team’s last game Neal had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Oradea’s top player in his first season with the team. University of Texas at Arlington graduate has very impressive stats this year. Neal is in league’s top in assists (3rd best: 9.0apg) and averages solid 90.9% FGP and 44.4% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Neal played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American forward Perry Ellis (203-F-1993) of second-ranked Cholet. Ellis impressed basketball fans with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Cholet was edged by Mechelen (2-0) 88-85. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let’s wait for the next round. Ellis is a newcomer at Cholet and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American Ousman Krubally (201-PF-1988) of second-ranked Keravnos. Krubally scored 27 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Keravnos, leading his team to a 77-68 win against #4 ranked Levice in a game of the week. Keravnos has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it’s too early to judge them at this stage. Krubally also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Krubally has a great season in FIBA Europe Cup. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 23.5ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 12.5rpg (#1 in league).

8. Arnas Velicka (195-PG-1999) of Chemnitz – 19 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Phil Greene IV (187-G-1992) of Anwil – 28 points and 3 assists
10. Jason Burnell (201-F-1997) of Brindisi – 22 points and 5 rebounds
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
