Dontay Bassett
American Dontay Bassett (206-F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Opava and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The forward had a double-double of 22 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Slavia (#10, 1-2) 86-71. Opava is placed at 3rd position in Czech Republic NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost that single game earlier this season. Opava will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Bassett turned to be Opava’s top player in his first season with the team. Weber State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bassett is in league’s top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.5rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg,80.0% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young international David Skranc (203-C/F-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) of Hradec Kralove. Skranc impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Hradec Kralove to another comfortable win 109-95 over Olomoucko (0-3) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let’s wait for the next round. Skranc is well-known by Hradec Kralove fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#7). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was American A.J Walton (184-PG-1990) of top-ranked Decin. Walton scored 17 points and passed eight assists. He was a key player of Decin, leading his team to a 84-82 win against Nymburk (#7, 1-1). Decin started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Walton turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Walton has a great season in Czech Republic. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in assists with 8.7apg (best passer).

9. Aleksandar Vlahovic (190-PG-1990) of Hradec Kralove – 10 points, 3 rebounds and 12 assists
10. Ondrej Peterka (197-F-1991) of Hradec Kralove – 20 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
