Ukraine celebrated the second consecutive win in Milan. They stole a narrow hard-fought win over Estonia to remain undefeated in Group C. Illya Sidorov (184-PG-1996, agency: BeoBasket) came up with a key layup late in regulation to propel Ukraine to the victory as they trailed for the most of the game.
Estonia dominated in the first period. They established a 21-15 lead ten minutes into the game. Ukraine managed to stay within striking distance throughout the second frame. They trailed by just two points heading into the locker room 33-35. Estonia maintained the lead throughout the third frame. They poured in 26 points in the period to enter the fourth quarter up by 5 points 61-56. But Ukraine refused to go away. They stuck around throughout the fourth period until Illya Sidorov stepped up with a key bucket to put Ukraine in front. Kullamae missed two baskets late in regulation and Estonia had to surrender at the end. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (201-G/F-1997, college: Kansas) posted 18 points, while Volodymyr Gerun (208-C-1994, college: Portland) added 12 points for the winners. Maik-Kalev Kotsar (211-C-1996, college: S.Carolina) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Estonia. Kullamae had 11 points.
