Experienced Thomas van der Mars (208-C-90, agency: Duran International) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s leader Den Bosch and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 31-year old center had the game-high 17 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Den Bosch in his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Hague (#11, 1-12) with 43-point margin 97-54. It allowed Den Bosch to consolidate first place in the BNXT-League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Den Bosch still have not lost a single game, getting all 14 victories. van der Mars has many years of experience at Den Bosch, through which he has constantly improved. University of Portland graduate has very impressive stats this year. van der Mars is in league’s top in rebounds (5th best: 9.0rpg) and averages solid 61.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 24-year old Lithuanian forward Arunas Mikalauskas (204-F-97) of second-ranked Leiden. Mikalauskas impressed basketball fans with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he led Leiden to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Leeuwarden (#6, 7-7) 114-68. Leiden’s second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 10 matches. Mikalauskas is a newcomer at Leiden and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Nigerian Lotanna Nwogbo (203-F/C-93) of Groningen (#5). Nwogbo scored 24 points. Despite Nwogbo’s great performance Groningen lost 84-85 to slightly lower-ranked Yoast Utd. (#7, 5-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Groningen needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Nwogbo has a very solid season. In 9 games in BNXT-League he scored 12.6ppg. He also has 5.9rpg and FGP: 52.4%.
