Defending champion ERA Basketball Nymburk (NBL) added to their roster 26-year old American point guard Kamau Stokes (183cm-1995, college: of Kansas State) for new 2022-23 season. Stokes joins another USA player Sterling Gibbs who is already in the roster.
He played last season at Egis Kormend in Hungarian A Division. In 46 games he recorded 14.2ppg, 3.0rpg, 5.3apg (top 4) and 1.3spg. He helped them to make it to the Hungarian League final. Quite impressive season as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Honorable Mention.
The previous (2020-21) season he played at Norrkoping Dolphins in Swedish Basketligan where in 41 games he averaged 14.7ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.8apg and 1.1spg in that year. He contributed to his team winning the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Good year as he was named League Player of the Week and Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan Third Team.
Stokes has played previously professionally in Germany (Science City Jena) and Poland.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
Stokes graduated from of Kansas State in 2019 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player.
