Center Motiejus Krivas (213-C-04) had a great game in the last round for Zalgiris II, receiving a Hoops Agents NKL Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 17-year old player had a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Vilkaviskis (#6, 9-9) 78-63. Zalgiris II maintains the 4th position in Lithuanian NKL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Zalgiris II will need more victories to improve their 13-6 record. Krivas turned to be Zalgiris II’s top player in his first season with the team. Motiejus Krivas averages this season 12.9ppg and 6.6rpg.
The second best player in last round’s games was 26-year old Aidas Kavaliauskas (185-PG-95) of LSU-Atletas. Kavaliauskas had a very good evening with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course LSU-Atletas cruised to a 94-82 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Silute (#8, 8-10). LSU-Atletas’ 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Kavaliauskas is a newcomer at LSU-Atletas and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third on the list of top players last round was American guard D.J. Hanes (185-G-95, agency: One Motive Sports) of Palanga (#7). Hanes scored 24 points and passed six assists. He was a key player of Palanga, leading his team to a 85-71 easy win against the lower-ranked Mazeikiai (#10, 7-11). The chances of Palanga ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hanes could help Palanga to bring them higher in the standings. Hanes has a great season in Lithuania. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 23.1ppg (best scorer).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
