Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (BSL) agreed terms with 27-year old American point guard Mike Smith (180cm-84kg-1997, college: Michigan). Smith started the season at KK Borac Cacak in Serbian KLS league. In 12 games he had 8.1ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg.
In 2021 he was drafted by Sioux Falls Skyforce (G-League) in second round (13th overall).
The former University of Michigan standout is in his fourth season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Smith’s career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in four different countries. Smith tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Australia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Germany (Seawolves), New Zealand (Saints), Poland (Enea Astoria) and Turkey (TED Ankara).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team won Big Ten Regular Season in 2021. Smith was voted to Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL Honorable Mention back in 2022. He played also for Columbia University for 4 years.
