The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Zubry (25-1) on the court of fifth ranked Lublinianka on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Lublinianka 94-84. Lublinianka made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Lublinianka outrebounded Bialystok 53-42 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Bialystok helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Michael Gospodarek (186-1991) contributed with 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Lublinianka’s coach Rafal Ziemolag used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Cezary Karpik (186-2000) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals for Bialystok. Despite that victory Lublinianka went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Bydgoszcz 2 and Katy Wrocl. Bialystok at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. Lublinianka is looking forward to face higher ranked Minsk Maz. (#5) in Minsk Mazowiecki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bialystok will play at home against LKS PL (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Warszawa. Eighth ranked AWF Wwa (14-12) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed Tur Bielsk Pdl. (19-7) 89-87 on Saturday evening. Guard Mateusz Gorka (190-1999) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Karol Debski chipped in 23 points. At the losing side forward Lukasz Kuczynski (196-1985) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Tur Bielsk Pdl.’s coach Rafal Krol rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. AWF Wwa have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 14-12 record.
