The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams’ position at the end of Regular Season. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 25 in the Superleague 1 took place in Saint Petersburg. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked CSKA-2 (18-6) to fourth ranked Zenit-2 (16-8) 81-78 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of CSKA-2. Center Egor Ryzhov (210-2004, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Ivan Prokopenko (186-2004, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). At the losing side Alexandr Evseev (205-2002) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zenit-2 maintains fourth place with 16-8 record. CSKA-2 at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Zenit-2 are looking forward to face Dinamo (#5) in Vladivostok in the next round. CSKA-2 will play at home against Khimki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Superleague 1 top team – TSU (83-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked Lok.Kuban (8-15) in Krasnodar 92-83. Guard Ivan Makarov (195-2003) nailed 22 points for the winning side and Maxim Khoziashev accounted for 7 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals. Guard Daniil Ginko (187-2004) came up with 20 points and 6 assists for Lok.Kuban in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TSU have an impressive series of 66 victories in a row. They maintain first place with 83-5 record. Lok.Kuban lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Tambov. TSU will play against Novosybirsk (#6) in Novosibirsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lok.Kuban will play on the road against Metallurg MGN (#16) in Magnitogorsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Barnau was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Dinamo (15-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Barnaul (12-11). Dinamo did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-72 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Barnaul. Ivan Strebkov fired 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Vsevolod Tishin produced 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Barnaul’s coach Alexander Gerasimov rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Dinamo maintains fifth place with 15-9 record. Loser Barnaul dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Dinamo will meet at home higher ranked Zenit-2 (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Barnaul will play against Kupol-Rodniki in Izhevsk and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 25: Kupol-Rodniki lost to BARS-RGEU on the opponent’s court 70-71. Dinamo managed to outperform Tambov in a home game 79-71. Bottom-ranked Metallurg MGN recorded a loss to Khimki on the road 69-64. Novosybirsk defeated Irkut on its own court 64-60. Chelbasket was beaten by Univ.Surgut in a road game 67-62.


Barnaul – Dinamo V. 72-89

The game in Barnau was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Dinamo (15-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Barnaul (12-11). Dinamo shot 22 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Tambov only scored six points from the stripe. The former international guard Maxim Kolyushkin (191-1990) fired 22 points for the winners. The former international power forward Artem Pisarchuk (205-1992) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Dinamo G.’s coach Nikita Kucherenko used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Metallurg MGN (6-17) was defeated on the road by third ranked Khimki (17-7) 69-64 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Forward Alexander Maltsev (200-2002) fired 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Evgeny Fidiy (208-1991) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Nikita Remizov (198-2000) produced 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Pavel Koltsov (180-1994) added 15 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Khimki. They maintain third place with 17-7 record having 130 points less than leader TSU. Metallurg MGN lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost.
