American Guard Zeb Graham (188-G-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Griffin, receiving a Hoops Agents A League Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, eight rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Burji (#6, 0-3), the league’s bottom-ranked team 102-94. It allowed Griffin to take over top position in the Georgian A League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Griffin already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team’s last game Graham had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Griffin, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Limestone College star has very solid stats this year. Graham is in league’s top in points (3rd best: 25.5ppg), assists (6th best: 4.8apg) and averages impressive 70.7% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round’s games was another Griffin’s star – young American Montez Mathis (193-G-1999). Mathis had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Griffin cruised to a 102-94 relatively comfortable win over Burji (0-3). A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Mathis is a newcomer at Griffin, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 10.9rpg and 6.7apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Kaleb Thornton (183-PG-1999) of BC Burji Telavi (#6). Thornton got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds and seven assists. Despite Thornton’s great performance the Burji lost 94-102 to Griffin (#1, 3-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Burji can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Thornton has individually a great season in Georgia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 23.7ppg (4th best) and assists with 8.3apg (best passer).

7. Trevante Anderson (185-G-2000) of Sokhumi – 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Edward Oliver-Hampton (202-F-1997) of Sokhumi – 21 points and 10 rebounds
9. Kamdyn Curfman (185-G) of Rustavi – 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Elijah Buchanan (196-G-1999) of Griffin – 15 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
