American Isaiah Crawley (201-PF-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Elitzur Shomron and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents National League Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 26-year old power forward had a double-double of 23 points and 21 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league’s bottom-ranked team Otef Darom (#14, 0-15) with 20-point margin 96-76. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. E.Shomron maintains the 13th position in Israeli National League. The season is in a full swing, so it’s only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. E.Shomron have already lost 13 games and recorded just three victories. In the team’s last game Crawley had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be E.Shomron‘s top player in his first season with the team. Georgia Southern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Crawley is in league’s top in rebounds (5th best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 68.1% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young Italian center Peter Olisemeka (207-C-1991) of Hapoel Migdal Haemek/Emek Izrael/Nazareth Elite. Olisemeka impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 13 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led H.Izrael to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked E.Yavne (#8, 8-8) 87-66. H.Izrael’s 12th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 5-10 record. Olisemeka is a newcomer at H.Izrael and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-F-1993) of Hapoel Safed Galil (#10). Augustin-Fairell showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of H.Safed Galil, leading his team to a 93-87 win against the higher-ranked Ramat Hash. (#2, 11-5). The chances of H.Safed Galil ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Augustin-Fairell could help H.Safed Galil to bring them higher in the standings. Augustin-Fairell has a very solid season. In 14 games in Israel he scored 19.9ppg. He also has 9.7rpg, 2.5spg, 1.1bpg and a FGP of 62.8%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
