Very important is a road loss of third ranked Real (6-3) against seventh ranked Mega (4-3) on Monday night. Visiting Real was crushed by Mega in Sremska Mitrovica 96-74. Center Pavle Backo (211-2007) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Ognjen Srzentic chipped in 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Aleksa Carapa (-2006) with 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains seventh place with 4-3 record. Real at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Cacak 94. Mega will play against league’s second-placed Partizan BG in Beograd in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Real’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd FMP BG.
JLS top team – FMP BG (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Konstantin Nis (0-9) in Beograd 106-52. Emre Ozyegen nailed 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Luka Petrovic came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Konstantin Nis in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated FMP BG have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Loser Konstantin Nis still closes the standings with nine games lost. FMP BG’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beograd to the arena Real.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 9: Sloboda beat Sloga on the road 73-65. Cacak 94 won against BKK Radnicki on its own court 76-64. Spartak unfortunately lost to Vojvodina in Novi Sad 81-94.


Sloga KR – Sloboda U. 65-73

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Sloboda‘s (2-5) road victory over 11th ranked Sloga (1-8) in Kraljevo 73-65 on Sunday. Guard Vasilije Jovanovic (190-2007) nailed 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and point guard Petar Milosavcevic (197-2006) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. Sloboda U.’s coach Branko Knezevic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Ognjen Vasic-Kovacevic (-2007) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and Vuk Dimitrijevic (-2007) added 15 points respectively for Sloga in the defeat. Four Sloga players scored in double figures. Sloboda maintains tenth place with 2-5 record. Sloga lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Sloboda will meet at home bottom-ranked Konstantin Nis (#12) in the next round. Sloga will play against Cacak 94 and hope to win that game.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed BKK Radnicki (5-3) lost on the road to fifth ranked Cacak 94 (6-3) 76-64 on Sunday. Cacak 94 forced 29 BKK Radnicki turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cacak 94 made 11 blocks. Bogdan Zekavica (-2008) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and guard Dusan Eric (187-2006) accounted for 17 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Center Luka Jovanovic (210-2006) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Lazar Stojkovic (209-2007) added 6 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks respectively for BKK Radnicki in the defeat. BKK Radnicki’s coach Aleksandar Colic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Cacak 94 moved-up to third place, which they share with Real.
