Undefeated Serbian Partizan (11-1) recorded its first loss in Beograd on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (10-2) 97-90. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Partizan. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Buducnost made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Partizan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard McKinley Wright IV (182-1998, college: Colorado) who scored 22 points and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Nigerian-American Rasheed Sulaimon (194-1994, college: Maryland) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Sterling Brown (197-1995, college: SMU) who recorded 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Buducnost have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Montenegrin champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Crvena zvezda. Partizan at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Buducnost is looking forward to face Krka (#14) in Novo Mesto in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Partizan’s supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beograd to the arena Crvena zvezda.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartak (7-5) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Igokea and FMP BG. Mega BG at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Cedevita Ol.. Spartak will play against Borac (#13) in Cacak in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mega BG will play at home against Cibona (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Dubai. Local Dubai (9-3) outscored 16th ranked Montenegrin Mornar (1-11) 104-66 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of JaCorey Williams who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Chico Carter Jr with 15 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dubai maintains fourth position with 9-3 record. Mornar lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Dubai will meet Split (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mornar will play against Zadar (#11) and hope to win that game.

Zadar – Borac CA 89-67
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Serbian Borac‘s (3-9) road loss to twelfth ranked Croatian Zadar (5-7) 67-89 on Thursday. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin point guard Vladimir Mihailovic (193-1990) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and power forward Karlo Zganec (206-1995, agency: PEPI SPORT) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Zadar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bosnian-Serbian forward Marko Josilo (200-1992) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Pavle Nikolic (200-2005) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
