Experienced American Phil Pressey (180-PG-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Oldenburg and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 33.
The 30-year old playmaker got a double-double of 28 points and eleven assists, while his team outclassed Wuerzburg (14-20) with 26-point margin 113-87. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Oldenburg is placed at 11th position in German BBL. Oldenburg is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-20 record. In the team’s last game Pressey had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Oldenburg and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. University of Missouri graduate has very impressive stats this year. Pressey is in league’s top in assists (5th best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 2.1spg and 55.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young former international Filip Stanic (207-C/F-1998, agency: BeoBasket) of Wuerzburg. Stanic impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Wuerzburg lost that game 87-113 to slightly higher-ranked Oldenburg (14-20). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Wuerzburg dropped in the standings to 12th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 14-20 record. Stanic is a newcomer at Wuerzburg and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was another Wuerzburg’s star – U.S. Virgin Islands Desi Rodriguez (198-F-1996). Rodriguez scored 29 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Rodriguez’s great performance Wuerzburg lost 87-113 to Oldenburg (14-20). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of Wuerzburg ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 20 games, recording just fourteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rodriguez could help Wuerzburg to bring them higher in the standings. Rodriguez has a very solid season. In 33 games in Germany he scored 14.6ppg. He also has 5.8rpg and FGP: 68.0%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
