The most exciting game of round 9 in the ProB took place in Toulon. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 15th ranked Chalons-Reims (3-6) to seventeenth ranked Hyeres-Toulon (3-6) 81-79 in the game for the fifteenth place. Hyeres-Toulon made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by Chalons-Reims helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Moses Greenwood (201-1997, college: SE Louisiana) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Quentin Losser (202-1999) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Hyeres-Toulon’s coach Jean-Louis Borg used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Jamaican-Canadian point guard Javon Masters (183-1994, college: UNB, agency: Blacktop Management) who recorded 19 points and 6 assists. Hyeres-Toulon moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims and Rouen. Hyeres-Toulon is looking forward to face higher ranked Gries-Souffel (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. We should mention about the upset which took place in Chartres, where higher ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (4-5) lost to nineteenth ranked C’Chartres (2-7) in a road game 82-90. Jamaican Kentan Facey (206-1993, college: UConn) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Ivorian center Bali Coulibaly (199-1995) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds.
