It’s still too early stage of the Regular Season in Serie B Nazionale, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The biggest surprise took place in Mestre where host Mestre (4-1) beat league’s leader Lumezzane (4-1) 92-79 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lumezzane. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Mestre looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Michele Rubbini (185-1999, agency: SLN) who scored 17 points. Luca Brambilla (194-1996) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Alessandro Amici (200-1991) produced 12 points and 8 assists for the guests. Mestre have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Lumezzane. Lumezzane will play next round against Saronno trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mestre will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Legnano at home.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Roseto as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader’s (Lumezzane) loss. Roseto smashed 16th ranked Jesi at home 69-48. Lithuanian Lukas Aukstikalnis (196-1995) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points. Andrea Pastore contributed with 8 points and 6 assists for the winners. Roseto’s coach Franco Gramenzi felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Jesi at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 9 other teams. Jesi will play next round against Sant Antimo trying to get back on the winning streak. Roseto will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Fabo Herons at Montecatini.
Undefeated Orlandina (4-1) recorded its first loss on the court of tenth ranked Agrigento on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Agrigento 76-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orlandina. Fabrizio Piccone stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners. Patrick Gatti responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Agrigento (3-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 8 other teams. Newly promoted Orlandina still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 7 other teams. Agrigento will meet San Vendemiano (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Orlandina will play against Imola ACosta (#10) and hope to secure a win.

Ravenna recorded a loss to Chiusi in a home game 68-74. Rieti was defeated by RO Virtus 1960 on the road 84-67. Caserta Pap. was beaten by Luiss Roma on its own court 73-81. Fabriano won against Salerno in a road game 66-62. Cassino unfortunately lost to Piombino at home 74-75. San Severo recorded a loss to Sant Antimo on the opponent’s court 75-85. Chieti defeated Livorno Pielle in a home game 79-73. Ruvo di Puglia beat Montecatini on the road 82-77.
The best stats of 5th round was 21 points by Bernardo Musso of Ruvo di Puglia.



Group A

Monferrato – Imola ACosta 96-100

There was a minor upset in Casale where 9th ranked Monferrato (2-2) was defeated by twelfth ranked Imola ACosta (3-2) 100-96 on Wednesday. Imola ACosta made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Monferrato outrebounded Imola ACosta 46-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists.
