Round 3 means everything may happen in Basketligan as the season just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Uppsala (2-1) recorded a loss on the court of BC Lulea on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by BC Lulea 91-74. BC Lulea outrebounded Uppsala 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. BC Lulea looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Brandon Johns Jr (203-1999, college: VCU) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard DeMonte Buckingham (193-1997, college: UNCG) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lukas Friberg (190-1995) who recorded 13 points and 9 assists. Uppsala’s coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. BC Lulea is looking forward to face Nassjo (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Uppsala will play against Boras (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game was played in Boras. Boras faced Hogsbo. Host Boras (3-0) smashed guests from Goteborg (2-1) 90-63. It was a good game for American guard Jase Townsend (193-2000, college: San Diego) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Matt Johnson II contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Dontay Bassett (206-1998, college: Weber St., agency: Players Group) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds for Hogsbo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Boras will play against Uppsala (#5) on the road in the next round. Hogsbo will play against Koping Stars and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Other games of round 3 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
winless Umea was defeated by Jamtland in Ostersund 104-86. Sodertalje beat Nassjo at home 92-75. Norrkoping won against Koping Stars on the opponent’s court 94-85.
The best stats of 3rd round was 20 points and 7 rebounds by Shane Hunter of Norrkoping.

Boras – Hogsbo 90-63

An exciting game was played in Boras. Boras faced Hogsbo. Host Boras (3-0) smashed guests from Goteborg (2-1) 90-63. Boras made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Boras outrebounded Hogsbo 44-24 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. There was no surprise in Ostersund where Umea (0-3) was defeated by Jamtland (2-1) 104-86. Jamtland players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Bryan Jefferson (201-1994, college: Mary) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Akili Vining (188-1999, college: UT Arlington, agency: Helping Ballers) contributed with 30 points and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Derek StHilaire (183-1998, college: New Orleans) answered with 20 points and 9 assists and forward Alonzo Gaffney (206-2000, college: Arizona St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Umea. Four Jamtland and five Umea players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamtland will play against Norrkoping (#6) on the road in the next round. Umea will play against Sodertalje (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Koping Stars (1-2) were defeated at home by Norrkoping (1-1) 94-85. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for power forward Shane Hunter (208-2001, college: Nova SE) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Keenon Cole (201-2000, college: Lindenwood) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Norrkoping players scored in double figures. Forward Dwight Wilson III (203-1998, college: Ohio) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Tahlik Chavez (188-2001, college: La Tech) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Koping Stars. Norrkoping will play against Jamtland (#4) in Ostersund in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koping Stars will play on the road against Hogsbo (#2) in Goteborg to get more than just one victory in their record.
