It’s still too early stage of the Regular Season in LBBL, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The biggest surprise of round 3 in LBBL took place in Ettelbruck where host Etzella (3-0) beat Amicale (2-1) 90-84 on Friday evening. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Jimmie Taylor (193-1994, college: Rider) who scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Quatarrius Wilson (203-1996, college: SEMO, agency: VM Hoops Agency) chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Elyjah Goss (201-1998, college: IUPUI) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Amicale will play next round against Mamer trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Etzella will try to continue on its current victory against Esch on the road.
Residence (2-1) recorded a loss on the court of AB Contern. Visitors were rolled over by AB Contern 97-74. It was a good game for forward Charel Moes (193-2002) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Riley Grigsby contributed with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. AB Contern’s coach Gabor Boros felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Leon Ayers III (195-2000, college: BGSU) answered with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for Residence. AB Contern will play against Heffingen (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Residence will play against Musel Pikes (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Dudelange was also quite interesting. Esch (3-0) played at the court of T71 (1-2). Esch managed to secure a 4-point victory 72-68 on Friday. It was a great evening for Clancy Rugg who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Brandon Randolph with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Esch will meet at home Etzella in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. T71 will play against Sparta (#6) in Bertrange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Other games of round 3 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Arantia defeated Mamer in Larochette 99-86. Avanti beat Heffingen at home 103-88. Sparta won against Musel Pikes on the opponent’s court 82-69.
Mamer – Arantia 86-99
There was no surprise when Mamer (0-3) was defeated at home by Arantia (2-1) 99-86 on Thursday. Arantia made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Kiandre Gaddy (198, college: Tarleton St., agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Isaiah White (201-1997, college: USC) helped adding 26 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Jake Hilmer (180-2000, college: Upper Iowa) with 25 points and 5 assists and guard Anthony Brown (196, college: MNU, agency: VM Hoops Agency) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Arantia will meet at home Avanti (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mamer will play against Amicale in Steinsel and hopes to get finally their first victory.

It was a great evening for American forward John Korte (198, college: West Liberty) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman John Daniel Ross (195-1997) helped adding 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Australian Lual Diing (205-1998) with 30 points and 5 rebounds and Australian power forward Callum Dalton (207-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Four Heffingen players scored in double figures. Avanti will meet Arantia (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sparta dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Musel Pikes‘ 36. Sparta forced 19 Musel Pikes turnovers. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Tyler Millin (201-2000, college: Chattanooga) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Lenell Henry (203-1998, college: Alcorn St.) helped adding 27 points and 7 rebounds. Millin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
