Braunschweig smashed EnBW Ludwigsburg at home 91-71. Braunschweig forced 19 Ludwigsburg turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Braunschweig especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. 26 personal fouls committed by Ludwigsburg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard TJ Crockett (187-1999, college: Lindenwood) scored 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Swedish point guard Barra Njie (191-2001) chipped in 10 points and 8 assists during the contest. American Justin Simon (196-1996, college: St.John’s, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play next round against strong Rostock trying to get back on the winning streak. Braunschweig will try to continue on its current victory against Vechta on the road.

Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-1994, college: LIU Brooklyn) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and Trevion Williams supported him with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 19 points by American forward Kyle Rode (201-1999, college: Liberty) did not help to save the game for Oldenburg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. A very close game took place in Muenchen between Bayern Muenchen and Hamburg Towers. Bayern Muenchen got a very close home victory over Hamburg Towers. Bayern Muenchen managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 in the fight for the fourth place. The best player for the winners was Nick Weiler-Babb who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Brae Ivey produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bayern Muenchen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hamburg Towers will play against Goettingen and hope to win that game.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 2: winless Wuerzburg lost to undefeated Ulm on the opponent’s court 76-85. Bonn managed to outperform Weissenfels in a home game 95-80. Winless Goettingen lost to undefeated Rostock on the road 74-102. Heidelberg defeated Vechta on its own court 80-74. Bamberg beat Frankfurt in a road game 66-58.
ALBA – Oldenburg 105-70
EWE Baskets recorded a loss on the court of ALBA Berlin. Visitors were rolled over by ALBA Berlin 105-70. ALBA made 35-of-44 charity shots (79.5 percent) during the game, while Oldenburg only scored eleven points from the stripe. ALBA forced 24 Oldenburg turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Rostock especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Goettingen‘s players. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-Hungarian power forward Godwin Omenaka (205-2000) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international Robin Amaize (196-1994) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Seawolves players scored in double figures.
