Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (BSL) landed 27-year old American 198cm forward Sean McDermott (college: Butler, agency: Octagon Europe) for new season. McDermott played most recently at Itelyum Varese in Italian Serie A. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 27 Serie A games he averaged 13.9ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.3apg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention. McDermott also played 13 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 12.2ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.3apg. He helped them to make it to the FIBA Europe Cup Semifinals. And finally he recorded 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got impressive 22.0ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg.
McDermott is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in USA, NBA (Memphis Grizzlies), NBA G League (Memphis Hustle) and NBA Summer League (Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies).
His team made it to the Big East Tournament Semifinals in 2018.
McDermott graduated from Butler University in 2020 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
