Turk Telekom Ankara (BSL) landed 27-year old Greek international 205cm forward Vasileios Charalampopoulos for new season. Charalampopoulos played most recently at Dinamo BDS Sassari in Italian Serie A. In 29 games he averaged 8.9ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.8apg last season. He also played 9 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 10.8ppg, 4.0rpg and 2.2apg.
Charalampopoulos’ team won Greek Cup in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro (Serie A). In 31 games he recorded 9.4ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.5apg in that year. Charalampopoulos helped them to make it to the Italian Cup Semifinals.
He has been also a member of Greek international program for some years. Charalampopoulos has regularly played for Greek senior team since 2016 and previously for U19 National Team back in 2015.
He represented Greece at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Crete (Greece) seven years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 7 games: 14.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.0apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 48.6%, 3PT: 43.8%, FT: 71.9%.
Charalampopoulos has played previously professionally also in Greece (Panathinaikos, PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki, Iraklis, Ionikos Nikaias and Aigaleo) and Italy (Umana Venezia and Fortitudo Flat Service Bologna). Charalampopoulos’ team won Greek Cup in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
